What Causes Plantar Fasciitis?

And why is your foot pain not getting better?

Plantar Fasciitis

The bottom of your foot has a type of tissue called the plantar fascia.  Sometimes this tissue can become tight and irritated, causing intense pain from the heel along the sole of the foot.

This can be hard to resolve when you are not able to rest the area.

Tendon Injury

A common cause of heel pain is irritation of the tendon called the tibialis posterior.  This causes acute pain in front of the heel of the foot, causing pain on weight bearing.

This is often aggravated by wearing very flat soled shoes.

The Plantar Fasciitis Program

Here at Sammy Margo Physiotherapy we have helped 1000's of patients just like you with our 3 Step Plantar Fasciitis Program

Step 1 - Hands On Treatment

Our knowledgeable and experienced therapists will carry out a treatment plan tailored to your specific circumstances, injury and goals.

Our committed team use a very much hands on manual therapy treatment approach to get you out of pain and back on the road to recovery.

Step 2 -Latest Technology for Plantar Fasciitis Treatment

Shockwave therapy is a targeted and effective treatment approach to many types of irritation and calcification of tendons.

Shockwave therapy is delivered non-invasively through the skin and is often indicated in those whose injury have not responded to other forms of treatment.

Sammy Margo Physiotherapy invested in Shockwave therapy to provide the latest treatment technology for their patients with heel pain and plantar fasciitis.

Step 3 - Recovery

Each treatment aims to gently and progressively get your foot and ankle moving again without pain, as quickly as possible, to allow you to get back to normal and start doing the things you love.

We will give you a structured rehabilitation exercise program, to help break the cycle and prevent the problem from returning.

How Does Shockwave Therapy Work?

Shockwave therapy is also known as as radial pressure shockwave therapy.  It is a newly available treatment for the management of pain caused by various musculoskeletal disorders and injuries.

A shock wave is an intense, short energy wave that moves faster than the speed of sound. This energy wave is used to target painful areas in musculo-skeletal tissues. The energy accelerates the healing process by switching on the body’s own healing mechanisms.

These healing mechanisms have often been interrupted when the body gets into a an inflammatory cycle such as in a case of tendonitis.
